Our SSU field school adventure (16-20 July, 2018) took us to investigatate the steamship wreck of the City of Rockland on Little Misery Island.
The landing-craft type boat Naumkeag dropped us off on the shore, and as the tide went out, the shipwreck slowly became revealed.
Guests included Stephen Young who came to take drone footage for us!
Students were immersed in hands-on experiences in measuring, recording and investigating this piece of maritime culture.
All documents about the shipwreck are now on file with Massachusetts BUAR.
Thanks to all who participated!
