SEAMAHP creates innovative and hands-on programs.
Our non-profit organization offers opportunities to learn maritime archaeology and history through exploring sites and artifacts. We, co-founders Dr. Calvin Mires and Captain Laurel Seaborn, believe that problem-based, experiential learning brings maritime stories to life for students. SEAMAHP courses focus on the human creativity and endeavor in maritime industries throughout history by examining the “life-cycle” of a vessel, from its inception through ship design and construction, through its “adult” life as a working vessel, and its “after life” through training in maritime archaeology for both divers and non-divers alike.
We encourage collaboration and support of local community partners, museums and organizations to further that goal.
